Anonymously processed information created and provided to third parties

Our hospital uses the Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC) system.
Unlike the traditional fee-for-service system, which calculates fees based on points for each medical procedure, DPC is a system that combines a comprehensive evaluation portion (basic hospitalization fee, tests, medication, injections, diagnostic imaging, etc.) consisting of a fixed daily fee determined by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare according to the name of the disease and the content of the treatment, with the traditional fee-for-service portion (surgery, gastroscopy, rehabilitation, etc.).
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is conducting ongoing research to verify the effectiveness of DPC, and as a DPC hospital, our hospital provides patients' DPC data to external research groups for this research. -
In addition, DPC data consists of medical record information and medical fee statement information, and using this information can be useful for improving the quality of medical care and hospital management. Therefore, we process personal information to prevent individuals from being identified, and then provide the anonymized data to third parties based on a contract with our university.
