Regional base hospital for promoting hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

Aiming to improve hematopoietic stem cell transplantation therapy in the region

Our hospital is an institution that aims to provide high-quality medical care by serving as a hub for regional collaboration and human resource development in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation therapy.

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only curative treatment for hematopoietic diseases that are difficult to cure completely with drug therapy. At our hospital, we have performed many hematopoietic stem cell transplantations in Hematology-oncology and the Department of pediatrics, and we provide cutting-edge treatment for hematopoietic diseases.

Since October 10, 2014, our hospital has been implementing the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's "Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Medical System Development Project" as a regional core hospital for promoting hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

With the aim of particularly strengthening regional collaboration, the content of this project has been reviewed, and our hospital has now been designated as a regional core hospital for promoting hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in the Kanto/Koshinetsu block (South Kanto) as of April 2020.

 

  • Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation medical personnel training project
    We mainly train specialized doctors and medical professionals involved in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and also provide training for local doctors and others.

  • Hematopoietic cell transplantation coordination support project
    We will assign a dedicated Hematopoietic Cell Transplant Coordinator (HCTC) to help shorten the time until transplantation/harvesting by coordinating with transplant medical professionals and related institutions, and will hold conferences and study sessions on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in which medical workers from local medical institutions will also participate.

  • Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation regional collaboration project
    Upon request from local medical institutions, we will provide medical support, such as dispatching hematopoietic stem cell transplant specialists.
