Greetings
We often hear from hospitalized patients that "mealtimes are the most relaxing time for me." Outpatients often struggle with dietary concerns in their daily lives. As the saying goes, "food is medicine," dietary therapy is a treatment method that provides nutrition tailored to each individual through food. Food is essential for treatment and survival, but more than that, it's also one of life's greatest joys. Our department's philosophy as registered dietitians is to be "professionals with sound judgment, respect for human life, and compassion, based on extensive nutritional knowledge and solid skills." We strive to support a safe and secure eating environment for our patients, so please feel free to contact our registered dietitians, whether you are an inpatient or outpatient.

Overview
Food and Nutrition Department 's work is broadly divided into four functions. We provide safe and secure meals by implementing patient-specific nutritional management in accordance with the instructions and consultations of physicians in each clinical department. The department's staff consists of 19 registered dietitians from the hospital, as well as registered dietitians, nutritionists, cooks, and kitchen assistants from the food service company. As part of the medical team, registered dietitians are responsible for nutritional support and dietary guidance in each ward and outpatient clinic. These tasks are constantly interconnected, ensuring comprehensive nutritional management through food.
1. Team medical care
When a patient is admitted to hospital, we work with the doctor and nurses to create a nutritional management plan in advance so that the patient can understand the dietary requirements early on and receive treatment with peace of mind. After admission, we are involved in implementing nutritional care for patients as a member of the nutrition support team.
2. School lunch management
Approximately 50 different types of food are provided for each meal, and a registered dietitian visits the patient's bedside to provide detailed individual nutritional management, taking into consideration the patient's condition and responding to requests such as appetite and preferences. In addition, we provide safe and hygienic meals, and to ensure that meals are eaten at the right time and temperature, we have installed pantries on each floor and provide meals according to examination times.
3. Clinical Nutrition
In addition to the nutritional support provided as part of the team medical care mentioned above, we also provide individual nutritional guidance for inpatients and outpatients and their families for various illnesses, as well as nutritional consultations to address concerns about food.We also hold group nutritional guidance sessions for lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, and parent classes to support patients' daily eating habits.
4. Contribution to the local community
In order to create a community where patients can live with peace of mind, we build face-to-face relationships with registered dietitians working in medical facilities and work closely together by planning training sessions and lectures. We also provide education to residents about lifestyle prevention as a community service.
