Division of Postgraduate Education

Greetings

Division of Postgraduate Education is responsible for the education and program management of initial residency training and specialist training (resident training) in various fields, which are conducted after obtaining the national medical license. Initial residency training lasts two years and is a program that covers a wide range of medical departments, including internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology pediatrics, psychiatry, and community medicine. Specialist training lasts three to four years and is conducted in specialized fields. There are 19 basic specialist training programs for specialists, such as internal medicine specialists and surgical specialists. In fiscal year 2025, 46 initial residents began their training, and 65 specialists newly began their training at our hospital. The basic philosophy of Tokai University Hospital is "to cultivate good physicians." To this end, Division of Postgraduate Education has introduced attractive programs, such as programs in cooperation with local physicians, training in areas with limited medical resources such as remote islands, and partnerships with popular training facilities nationwide. Our mission is to cultivate "good physicians" who can meet the needs of modern medicine.
