Our hospital has been designated as a disaster base hospital by Kanagawa Prefecture, and is positioned as a hospital that plays a central role in regional relief activities, such as accepting seriously injured and critically ill patients in the event of a disaster.
In the event of a disaster, we take various measures to ensure the safety of our patients and to ensure that we have a complete system in place to accept injured and sick people.
Response in the event of an earthquake
The hospital building is equipped with seismic isolation devices to reduce shaking even in a major earthquake of seismic intensity 6+, ensuring the safety of patients and medical staff and allowing for continued medical treatment. In the event of a strong earthquake, please follow the instructions of staff.
Fireproof structure
Each floor is divided into approximately three fire compartments, which will be separated by fire doors in the event of a fire. In addition, fire-resistant materials are used for the walls, etc., to prevent the spread of fire. In hospital wards, the primary evacuation site is, as a general rule, the adjacent ward. In the unlikely event of a fire, please follow the instructions of staff.
Other measures
An energy center is located on the Isehara campus, and is equipped with an emergency generator, an ice thermal storage system (a cooling device that uses nighttime electricity), etc., providing approximately three days' worth of in-house power generation capacity even in the event of a power outage. The school also has a three-day supply of patient food and emergency medication.
