Greetings
I would like to extend my greetings on the occasion of the establishment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.
Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are diseases that affect the lives of patients for a long period of time. Appropriate diagnosis and treatment are important for these diseases, and it is necessary to find the optimal treatment strategy for each individual. We will do our utmost to support patients so that they can "control their disease and live a more fulfilling life" rather than "living with the disease."
In particular, our center will support the smooth transition to adulthood of patients diagnosed with IBD in childhood and provide long-term health management. For patients who wish to become pregnant, we will provide consistent support from pregnancy planning to postpartum, striving to ensure a safe pregnancy and delivery. In addition, we will promote the spirit of "patient advocacy" and not only protect the right of patients to receive appropriate medical care, but also support the creation of an environment in which they can play an active role in society. We will strengthen cooperation with patients and their families and provide a place where patients can share information and support each other. We will work together with patients, not only medical professionals but also patients themselves, to make their own treatment and lifestyle choices and build a better life.
Our center focuses not only on medical treatment but also on research, and has established a system to quickly detect changes in patients' conditions and provide the latest medical care. We work closely with local medical institutions to create an environment where patients can continue their treatment with peace of mind.
If you have any questions about inflammatory bowel disease, please feel free to contact us.
We look forward to your continued support.

Overview
Department introduction and role of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center
Tokai University Hospital has recently established a new Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center.
Inflammatory bowel diseases can be broadly divided into ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. These diseases are most prevalent among young people in their 20s and 30s, and tend to occur at the same time as various life events such as school, employment, pregnancy, and childbirth, significantly affecting the quality of life (QOL) of patients.
This center places great importance on the concept of "patient advocacy," which respects patients' rights to understand their own illnesses and receive appropriate medical care. We always strive to provide the best possible medical care and treatment by consulting with patients and accurately understanding their condition. Furthermore, our medical staff, including not only medical departments such as Gastroenterology, Gastroenterological Surgery, pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, and obstetrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology, but also nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, and laboratory technicians, work together as a team, utilizing the comprehensive strengths of a comprehensive university, to provide medical care for patients from various perspectives.
Target diseases
Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, intestinal Behcet's disease, nonspecific multiple small intestinal ulcers, Cronkhite-Canada syndrome, etc.
